Car Alpha is a free automotive data intelligence platform that provides:

• VIN Decoder: Decodes Vehicle Identification Numbers using the official NHTSA VPIC database
• Recall Checker: Cross-references vehicles against the NHTSA federal recall database
• VIN Scanner: Browser-based camera scanning tool using client-side OCR
• Vehicle Guides: Educational content about vehicle ownership, insurance, lemon laws, and more
• State Resources: State-specific information on registration, insurance requirements, and EV incentives

All core tools and content are provided free of charge. No user account is required.

Vehicle specification and recall data displayed on Car Alpha is sourced from the NHTSA VPIC and Recalls databases. While we strive for accuracy, this data is provided by federal agencies and we do not guarantee its completeness, accuracy, or timeliness.

Car Alpha is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We disclaim all warranties, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

You may use Car Alpha for lawful, personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:

• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the site in a manner that exceeds reasonable use or overburdens our infrastructure
• Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, or exploit any portion of Car Alpha for commercial purposes without express written permission
• Attempt to interfere with, compromise, or disrupt the platform's systems or security
• Use the platform to stalk, harass, or harm another person
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any person or organization
• Use VIN data obtained from Car Alpha for illegal purposes, including VIN cloning, title washing, or fraud

All original content on Car Alpha — including text, graphics, logos, design elements, and code — is the property of Car Alpha and is protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.

Vehicle specification and recall data sourced from NHTSA databases is public domain information provided by the United States government. Our original analysis, presentation, and editorial content surrounding this data is proprietary.

Car Alpha contains links to third-party websites and services, including affiliate partner links. These links are provided for your convenience and are clearly identified on our platform. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of service of any third-party site.

When you click an affiliate link and leave Car Alpha, your use of the third-party service is governed entirely by that service's terms and policies. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details on our partner relationships.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Car Alpha and its owner, operators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to your use of the platform.
